If you plan on going to any independent minor league pro baseball tryouts in the coming months, then you know that you need to bring your equipment and dress like a professional. You know that you need to be punctual, and you know that you need to bring your registration fee if one is required. There are some things that you need to know, however, which are not often told to aspiring professional baseball players. Here are a few veteran tips to help you improve your odds, even you do not sign a contract out of the tryout.First, bring food and water! Many guys forget to bring something to keep them going during the day. An open independent pro baseball tryout may have the registration process start at 8:00 am, the discussion start at 9:00 am, and continue throughout the afternoon. There is a lot of time waiting around, but sometimes you will get hungry. Be certain to bring enough water and food which you can tolerate that gives you energgy, without making you feel lethargic, so that you can perform at a high level if you are selected to stay late for an extended part of the tryout.Next, bring information about your background with you. Much like a professional career interview, you should bring multiple copies of some form of “resume.” This can be printed materials with your baseball background, including awards and statistics. You can bring a DVD of your skills, including information on your mechanics such as average 60-yard dash time, any “20-80″ scores from a established scouting service, etc. This also can be on a memory stick instead of DVD, whichever is easier for you to bring. The overall goal is to leave something physical (resume, DVD, memory stick, etc.) in the hands of the team officials so that they can remember you.If you want advice from those who actually affect the independent minor league baseball business, then you are invited to discover more about the interviews giving players advice on how to do well at pro baseball tryouts. Once you become conscious of what is needed to have a productive pro baseball career then you can be informed of opportunities regarding the independent leagues including any independent baseball tryouts.
